BUYECO simplifies GO management for Swiss producers

BUYECO is launching a new feature to simplify the management of Guarantees of Origin (GO) in Switzerland. Producers can now mandate BUYECO to initiate a standing order in the national Pronovo register, centralizing all certificates in a single account.

This allows GO to be easily grouped and sold at market price, increasing sales opportunities, especially for small productions (< 100 MWh/year).

Flexibility

The service is free and without commitment; producers can stop the standing order at any time. They remain completely free to place ads and participate in tenders. The only requirement is that transactions must be made through the BUYECO platform, which involves a commission paid by the buyers, necessary for the platform's operation.

Our Commitment

We strive to offer the best possible prices and conditions for producers. We do not take any "spread": the price paid to the producer is the same as the price paid by the buyer, minus the commission. However, we observe an increase in the supply of GO, especially photovoltaic GO, leading to a drop in purchase prices. Producers are advised to prioritize the buyback offered by their network manager when possible. GO prices can vary widely (between 1 CHF and 20 CHF per MWh), and BUYECO cannot guarantee either the buyback or the price of managed GO.

Here are the procedure steps:

• The producer accepts the management conditions and provides their 8-digit Pronovo project number.
• BUYECO initiates a standing order. Pronovo sends an email to the producer, who must confirm the start of the standing order. This order can be revoked at any time.
• BUYECO prepares grouped offers and uses its network to sell under the best conditions.
• In parallel, the producer can place ads and respond to tenders under their conditions. BUYECO informs the producer of the available quantities and assists in the smooth running of the transaction (we recommend a monthly frequency, to be established with the network manager).
• If the sale is concluded, BUYECO handles the transaction and transfers the amount to the producer's account.
